Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish issued a public apology Monday for violating the UK government guidelines on social distancing the police opened an investigation into an incident in which a Range Rover collided with parked cars.
Villa expressed disappointment with Grealish and said the young man of 24 will be fined with the proceeds going to a children’s hospital in Birmingham.
West Midlands Police said they were called Sunday at an address in Solihull, near Birmingham, where the two parked cars sustained minor damage. The force said the driver had left his contact with an audience member before leaving on foot.

“Club Captain Jack Grealish agreed that his decision to leave home was completely wrong and unnécessaire. He violated the government guidelines that are clear and must be respected by everyone.

Less than 24 hours before the incident, the Villa captain was part of a video call for people to stay home during the lockdown.
